I usually write stories on xanga, because I feel that they are light and entertaining.&amp;nbsp; Tonight I just have food for thought.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;For 11 years I have wanted to see the broadway&amp;nbsp;show called Les Miserables.&amp;nbsp; Seeing this show was so important to me for so long, that once put it on a list of things&amp;nbsp;to do before I die.&amp;nbsp; I had a chance to see in it Columbus around my 21st Birthday, but those plans fell through and I was devasted.&amp;nbsp; However, I was still hopeful that my chance would come again. later that school year, the broadway show closed (ironically I only knew this fact because I was enrolled in Theatre 100).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Deep inside, I have been childlike in the sense that I really believed people have to follow their heart to be happy.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;When Les Miserables closed 4 years ago, I thought that my dream&amp;nbsp;may have to die.&amp;nbsp;I&amp;nbsp;am happy to inform you that the dream did not die.&amp;nbsp; In fact, the dream became a reality, not because of anything I have done, but because I am blessed with amazing friends. :)&amp;nbsp; I&amp;nbsp;have just returned from NYC, and I am pleased to inform you that I have seen it. :) &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Les Miserables is my favorite novel, one of my favorite movies, and is my favorite broadway show.&amp;nbsp; I also owned the broadway soundtrack until an unfortunate recent accident, but I hope that whoever has it now is inspired by it as well.&amp;nbsp;This book is so deep, that I could write about it all night and&amp;nbsp; not do it justice.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;When I went to this play, I honestly did not think that the story would grip me like it did when I read it the first time. I was even a little afraid that afterall the hype, the play would not meet my expectations. Not only did the play exceed my expectations, but it taught me something about life that I didn't see before.&amp;nbsp; It was so obvious in a sense, but I was so blind.&amp;nbsp; I analyzed the main characters in the play, and now I know why so many people flock to see this show.&amp;nbsp; It's the reason why this is the longest running broadshow in the whole world.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you know the story, write down your top 3 heroes and/or heroines.&amp;nbsp; Then think about what makes these three out shine the others (in your opinion).&amp;nbsp; My top three are the following:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1.Jean Val Jean&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;2.Fantine&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;3.Eponine&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Here is the rest of my official ranking:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;4. The Bishop&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;5. Gavroche&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;6. Marius&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;7. Cosette&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;8. Javert&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;9. Madame Thenardier&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;10. Thenardier&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I will not write out my character analysis in this post.&amp;nbsp; However, I will leave you with this.&amp;nbsp; The secret to the success of the play is summed up best by Victor Hugo himself.&amp;nbsp;It's what every single living and breathing human being wants deep within his or her soul.&amp;nbsp; I used to ask people what they believed was most important in their life, and every single one that I asked said the exact same thing.&amp;nbsp;Victor Hugo sums it up in the following passage:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;FONT color=#400080&gt;Is there not in every human soul, and was there not in the soul of Jean Valjean, an essential spark, an element of the divine; indestructible in this world and immortal in the next, which goodness can preserve, nourish and fan into glorious flame, and which evil can never quite extinguish? --Victor Hugo&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;&lt;FONT color=#400080&gt;&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description><comments>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/598378055/les-miserables/#firstcomment</comments></item><item><title>Monday, February 19, 2007</title><link>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/571408788/item/</link><guid>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/571408788/item/</guid><pubDate>Mon, 19 Feb 2007 02:50:03 GMT</pubDate><description>&lt;html&gt; &lt;head&gt; &lt;title&gt;Script Test Page&lt;/title&gt;   &lt;!-- document.write("What is the sum of 5 and 2?"+"&lt;br&gt;"); //this will display text and a page break document.write("The answer is..."+"&lt;br&gt;");//this will display text and create a page break document.write(5+2+"&lt;br&gt;");//will display 7 document.write("what is 12 subtracted from 32?"+"&lt;br&gt;");//displays the problem document.write("the solution is..."+"&lt;br&gt;') document.write(32-12)+"&lt;br&gt;");//should display 20 document.write("what is 14 divided by 2?"+"&lt;br&gt;");//displays text document.write("the answer is..."+"&lt;br&gt;");//displays text document.write(14/2+''&lt;br&gt;");//displays answer //--&gt;   &lt;/head&gt; &lt;body&gt; &lt;/body&gt; &lt;/html&gt;  </description><comments>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/571408788/item/#firstcomment</comments></item><item><title>Sunday, February 18, 2007</title><link>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/571179208/item/</link><guid>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/571179208/item/</guid><pubDate>Sun, 18 Feb 2007 02:25:00 GMT</pubDate><description> &lt;html&gt;&lt;head&gt;&lt;title&gt;Script Test Page&lt;/title&gt; &lt;!--document.write("Hello World"); //place your code here instead of my document.write() statement//--&gt; &lt;/head&gt;&lt;body&gt;&lt;/body&gt;&lt;/html&gt;</description><comments>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/571179208/item/#firstcomment</comments></item><item><title>Friday, December 09, 2005</title><link>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/403247835/item/</link><guid>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/403247835/item/</guid><pubDate>Fri, 09 Dec 2005 14:01:20 GMT</pubDate><description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;The Legend of Stawberry&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;During my high school days, my brothers and I rarely went out to eat. In fact, when Steve and I went to visit our Aunt in California, she told us that we can eat anywhere. We both looked at eachother and exclaimed, "Arby's!" with a smile. My aunt said, "Arby's?! Don't you want to go to a nice place?"&amp;nbsp; Looking perplexed, I said, "You mean like &lt;EM&gt;BOB EVAN'S&lt;/EM&gt;? I think that she found that response even more hilarious. Needless to say, going out to eat at all was a big deal to us kids. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Steve's middle school was having a pajama day during spirit week at school, and whoever had the best pajamas would be awarded the grand prize--a free sub, bag of chips, and beverage at Subway. I caught Steve in my closet later that day. I wasn't sure what he was up to, but the next morning he had this look on his face like he was up to something. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;That day at lunch, my high school friends were talking about a kid in middle school that was being called "strawberry."&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;"There is this kid that is wearing a pink pajama sleeper, the kind with the feet attached! He's prancing around in it with a green cape like he is some kind of super hero. People are laughing so hard that they are crying, " said Tara.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;"That's got to be my brother and my pajamas!" I exclaimed. Sure enough, it was true. That evening Steve told everyone about his adventures as "strawberry."&amp;nbsp; He celebrated his victory as he ate his free meal from Subway. &lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;The Football Game:&lt;/EM&gt; &lt;?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /&gt;&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;For some reason, I really felt like playing flag football this Thanksgiving with my brothers and Abbey. Perhaps this sudden impulse was due to watching the OSU vs. Michigan game on TV fairly recently.&amp;nbsp; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Since I was only at home for a few days, I didn't have any play clothing with me at all. Steve let me borrow his snowboarding pants, and Abbey also borrowed clothing items as well. She said the two of us looked like "oompa loompas". &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Steve was the all time quarter back for both teams. He was also the offensive coach for both teams.&amp;nbsp; Since Steve is "Mr. Athlete",&amp;nbsp; any team with him exclusively on it would have been an unfair advantage. Abbey and Brandon were on one team, and Matt and I were on the other team.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;It was a very close match up. One of the funniest plays was when Matt and I were doing a double slant play.&amp;nbsp; Steve threw the ball to me and I proceeded to run toward the end zone when Matt tackled me!&amp;nbsp; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; "That was the worst thing that I have EVER seen in flag football, " remarked Steve. I can honestly say that I had never seen someone tackle his or her own teammate before.&amp;nbsp; I couldn't help but laugh and ask Matt was he was thinking.&amp;nbsp; Despite this, Matt and I did win the football game.&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Black Friday&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I could not help but go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. I have quite a bit of holiday shopping done already, but the sales were simply too tempting. I went to Nordstrom to look for brown shoes that would fit. I have a terrible time with shoes because I have very narrow ankles and narrow feet, and I was lucky enough to find a pair. My aunt was making fun of me because my other brown shoes are 7 years old and have a small hole in them, yet I refused to get rid of them until I could find a suitable replacement. &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Limited had a great sale on my favorite style of pants. I have a hard time finding pants that fit me, so when I find a style that works&amp;nbsp;I stick with them. &amp;nbsp;Tops are easy, but pants are such a pain. They are usually baggy in the wrong places *ugh*.&amp;nbsp; Not only were the pants on sale, but also&amp;nbsp;the alterations and shipping were free.&amp;nbsp; :)&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;EM&gt;Trapped by "obligation"&lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I feel that part of the reason that I have relationship/commitment issues is because of the nature of the dating system itself. I feel that agreeing to be a girlfriend is a verbal contract, and with that contract comes certain obligations. For instance, without sufficient feelings a kiss could become the equivalent of a handshake in a relationship rather than an emotional response.&amp;nbsp; Even if establishing boundary conditions and/or proposing a time line for long-term growth modify the system, one can still feel as if being forced into a mold of what a girlfriend should be. Is this because of our culture, friends, and/or family? Could it be socially constructed as a norm?&amp;nbsp; &lt;o:p&gt;&lt;/o:p&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN style="FONT-SIZE: 12pt; FONT-FAMILY: 'Times New Roman'; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA"&gt;In order for me to really be happy in a relationship, I would have to be comfortable around the person and not feel the pressures of obligation.&amp;nbsp; Then, any expression of warmth and affection would be genuine and from the heart. Until that happens, I will always have relationship issues. &lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description><comments>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/397882866/item/#firstcomment</comments></item><item><title>Saturday, November 05, 2005</title><link>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/381435481/item/</link><guid>http://otz-lolli.xanga.com/381435481/item/</guid><pubDate>Sat, 05 Nov 2005 20:34:17 GMT</pubDate><description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;Ovarian Cancer Pin:&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I purchased a lovely teal ovarian cancer pin at Claire's last week. I was so excited, because I had never seen one in the stores before. Afterwards, I remembered that I had read something about it on xanga before (I think Linda's) a long time ago. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;A Few Thoughts...&lt;/U&gt; &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I never realized how immature high school students can be. I had to confiscate a fake rat and gave a kid a d-hall for using a whoopie cushion in class.&amp;nbsp; It's really sad actually. I feel like a babysitter more often than a teacher. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Some of the students are&amp;nbsp;cool though. Word has spread that I like&amp;nbsp;to draw, so now some of my students are starting to show me their artwork. Little things like that brighten my day. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;Halloween 2005&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I went to a 80's Halloween party with one of my friends.&amp;nbsp; We played pictionary and watched the end of the movie Ghostbusters, but the most interesting part was our conversations afterward. &lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;For instance, we were talking about past crushes and such, and she knew what I meant by "the look."&amp;nbsp; "The look" is this strange moment when this expression appears in a guy's eyes when you are hanging out together, and there is this intense energy/feeling that is almost overwhelming. It's really odd, and so strong that I always have to look away because it's just too awkward for me. She is the first person that I know that actually knew exactly was I was talking about. I don't see the look very often. In fact, I only remember it happening a few times in my life.&amp;nbsp; &lt;/P&gt;

1986.&amp;nbsp; I sang the chorus in kindergarten, and I thought it was one
of the most beautiful songs that I had ever heard.&amp;nbsp; I didn't know
the verses, but I was determined to find it someday and learn the whole
song.&amp;nbsp; Unfortunately, I didn't know the artist or composer's name
and at the time the internet did not exist for ordinary people to use
anyway. Plus, at five I didn't exactly have monetary resources or
transportation. In fact, I don't know if I ever told my parents how
much I wanted to find that song.&amp;nbsp; Often when I would speak up
about something as a little kid, I felt that people didn't really
listen.&amp;nbsp; They would just say something like "oh that's cute or
awwwww" more than anything else, and it used to make me so mad and
frustrated.&amp;nbsp; I couldn't wait until I was grown up, because people
usually listened to grown ups.&amp;nbsp; Anyway, I thought about the song
again when I went on the choir trip and realized that I could probably
find the song easily if I used a search engine, and low and behold I
finally found it today!!!!&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; I was shocked to discover that
Sandi Patii, my favorite singer from the 1980's, sang this song. &lt;img src="http://www.xanga.com/Images/surprised.gif"&gt;&lt;img src="http://www.xanga.com/Images/pleased.gif"&gt;&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Here are the Lyrics:&lt;br&gt;
Sandi Patti&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Love In Any Language&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
by Unknown&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Je t'aime&lt;br&gt;
Te amo&lt;br&gt;
Aishiteru&lt;br&gt;
Ani ohevet othka&lt;br&gt;
I love you&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
The sounds are all as different&lt;br&gt;
As the lands from which they came&lt;br&gt;
And though the words are all unique&lt;br&gt;
Our hearts are still the same&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Love in any language&lt;br&gt;
Straight from the heart&lt;br&gt;
Pulls us all together&lt;br&gt;
Never apart&lt;br&gt;
And once we learn to speak it&lt;br&gt;
All the world will hear&lt;br&gt;
Love in any language&lt;br&gt;
Fluently spoken here&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
We teach the young our differences&lt;br&gt;
Yet look how we're the same&lt;br&gt;
We love to laugh, to dream our dreams&lt;br&gt;
We know the sting of pain&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
From Leningrad to Lexington&lt;br&gt;
The farmer loves his land&lt;br&gt;
And daddies all get misty-eyed&lt;br&gt;
To give their daughter's hand&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Oh maybe when we realize&lt;br&gt;
How much there is to share&lt;br&gt;
We'll find too much in common&lt;br&gt;
To pretend it isn't there&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Love in any language&lt;br&gt;
Straight from the heart&lt;br&gt;
Pulls us all together&lt;br&gt;
Never apart&lt;br&gt;
And once we learn to speak it&lt;br&gt;
All the world will hear&lt;br&gt;
Love in any language&lt;br&gt;
Fluently spoken here&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
The rehtoric of government&lt;br&gt;
May keep us worlds apart&lt;br&gt;
There's no misinterpreting&lt;br&gt;
The language of the heart&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Love in any language&lt;br&gt;
Straight from the heart&lt;br&gt;
Pulls us all together&lt;br&gt;
Never apart&lt;br&gt;
And once we learn to speak it&lt;br&gt;
All the world will hear&lt;br&gt;
Love in any language&lt;br&gt;

&lt;br&gt;
There it is within your grasp—a tantalizing cupcake with bright rainbow
sprinkles.&amp;nbsp; The sight of it brings a smile to your lips. You reach
for it and devour the delightful decadent dessert.&amp;nbsp; A few minutes
pass, and the sweetness of the cupcake has faded away and with it the
satisfaction that it gave you. &lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Some people devour one cupcake after another throughout their whole
life. The happiness associated with it is brief, desirable, and fairly
easy to obtain. Over time, the cupcakes take a toll on that person’s
health, creating more problems than benefits.&amp;nbsp; It becomes more
difficult to find contentment and the person falls into despair. &lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
What is genuine happiness and how is it obtainable? This is perhaps one of the secrets of life. &lt;img src="http://www.xanga.com/Images/smiley3.gif"&gt;&lt;br&gt;
